Omotesenke Day

We held a commemorative tea gathering celebrating Japanese culture in the Omotesenke tea tradition.

We began by offering a bowl of tea in loving memory of the teachers who dedicated themselves to establishing the Northern California Chapter. We offered our heartfelt gratitude and honored their memory with warmth and reverence.

Afterward, guests were welcomed to a thin tea (usucha) service in the large room and a thick tea (koicha) service in the small tea room. We were delighted to celebrate the living tradition of Omotesenke way of tea here in Northern California, not only with our members, but also with guests from the wider community who joined us for the occasion.
